Why Was My Post Declined?

Directly informed by real moderation decline patterns documented in docs/TOHS-Declined-Posts-Reasons-Sheet.md (category + feedback language only -- no names or raw post text retained per privacy handling rule).

Posts are most often declined for one of these reasons: Posting format -- the post doesn't follow the required template, or is missing required fields (budget, move-in date, price, photos). Posting rules -- the listing doesn't meet a hard requirement, like being outside the Rent Cap, under 28 days, missing required photos, or posted from a business/anonymous account. Lease terms -- the post describes an arrangement that isn't legally sound as written (for example, a sublet without mention of landlord permission for the specific subtenant, or terms that conflict with the Residential Tenancies Act). Transparency -- the post is missing information a reader would reasonably need to evaluate the listing honestly (e.g., unclear pricing, vague location, or an unclear roommate/tenant relationship). If your post is declined, you'll typically be told which of these categories applies so you can revise and resubmit. Volunteer moderator capacity means detailed individual feedback isn't always possible -- please be patient and feel free to ask for clarification.
